We were able to eat at L'Atelier de Joel Rebuchon, one of a trend of celebrity chefs opening casual restaurants. This asparagus and crab was part of the 98 euro tasting menu. Yum.

Harvey, who carefully researched lots of great places to eat lunch and dinner, including a great Vietnamese place in the neighborhood where he was staying, was happy that I wasn't afraid to speak a little French to make a reservation. After the first sentence or two they usually switched to English anyway, hopefully giving me credit for having tried.

A Japanese place we stumbled on for a dinnertime snack after having had a large lunch served soba with buckwheat seeds and garlic. They had lots of other strange little items on the "hors d'oeuvres plate".
